While Othello laments that he will wear his heart on his sleeve “for the daws to peck at,” you might want to put your conservationist spirit on your car for all the neighbors to “gawk at.” The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles now offers a “Reduce Reuse Recycle” license plate.
According to its website: The Reduce Reuse Recycle license plate is available to all SC residents. The cost of the plate is $30.00 in addition to the regular registration fee. A portion of the fees collected for this plate will support the SC Recycling Industry, provide education and increase awareness of recycling in SC.
If you prefer your nature to run, walk, scoot, fly, slither or crawl, you might prefer the “Protect Endangered Species” license plate:
Fees collected for this license plate, in addition to the registration fees, will be deposited into a Nongame Wildlife and Natural Areas Fund. The fee for this plate is $30.00 plus the registration fee.
